What do I do?
As a recent recipient of my degrees in both Web Development and Mobile Development, I have been doing volunteer work updating websites for friends and family. Most of my work revolves around creating or editing WordPress themes to meet the needs of my customer. I do this while keeping an eye for mobile functionality. In this day and age a lot of content is consumed over mobile devices, and sites that do not function, or do not look good in a mobile environment are only going to push away or frustrate consumers. If you need a developer with an eye for mobile, I’m your guy.
Eric McCracken has received his AAS for Web Design and Development from McHenry County College in Dec 2016. He earned his AAS for Mobile Development and Design in May 2019
Professional History
After graduating from High School in 2001, I enlisted in the Air Force for 6 year as a Satelite, Wideband and Telemetry Systems Jouneyman. I served in Air Combat Command, 9th Air Force stationed at Shaw AFB, SC. During my enlistment I was deployed to Saudi Arabia once in support of OIF. After the Air Force, I spent a couple years as a regional service technician installing and repairing fabrication equipment. I had a lot of face to face time with customers as they needed to describe their problems, and once located we would need to come up with a corrective action for the machine. The hours were rough but I got to see a whole lot of the world and meet a whole bunch of interesting people from many different cultures. After getting out of Field Service I started work as an controls technician programming and troubleshooting PLC driven automation, and I have been doing this while putting my self through school.
Other stuff
In my free time I enjoy reading fiction, playing video games, watching movies, entertaining my cats, and spending time with my wife and daughters. When time permits, I maintain a small video game blog over at http://clanmccrackengaming.wordpress.com.
