Fall Semester comes to a close
This semester I took a little heavier work load, 5 classes in total. Portfolio design, Intro to Digital Legalities, Web Development and Design, Intro to Linux, and Intro to computer Security. I didn’t end up with the Straight A’s I was hoping for, but I did get a pretty solid GPA of 3.615. While not perfect it does qualifiy me for the Dean’s list this semester, so small victory. /cheer.
Portfolio design was taught by Brian Beishke and mostly I worked on this site, turning it in as my final project
Web Development and Design was taught by Stephy Miehle. In this class we learned various ways to edit WordPress. While I was pretty deep into WordPress already it was nice having a better base to build upon.
Into to Lynux and Computer Securities were both half semester classes worth 2 credits each. Together they formed one of of electives. The classes were online, and fairly easy. Only going over the basics with the broadest strokes. Security was no problem at all, Linux was actually fairly fun. I may wish to learn more about Linux in the future.
Finally we have Digital Legalities, taught by Bill Skrzypczak, my mobile development teacher. I don’t really know what I was expecting going into this class, but it was interesting. Every week we would be assigned a case and a position. We would have to write a paper summarizing our opinion of the case, then the following week we would have a mock trial where half the class would be the prosecution and the other half would be the defense. Bill himself sat as Judge. The side that Bill decided argued their case better got 5 bonus points. Overall it was an interesting class, and the set up was unique.
Next Semester
At this point I am only 1 class away from my Web Development Degree. I am scheduled to take Project Management spring 2016.
I am also only one class away from my mobile development degree, but that class will not be available until at least fall 2016, so that one has to wait.
